Note: some newer short throw lenses do avoid this but most models I see like that are 3k lumens or lower (see the next point). So the projector would be about 9' off the ground in the same situation. With a zoom the image will "rise" (if on a table), like this image. The next problem is hight off the floor, and this relates to the lens as well, most lenses on projectors are zoom lenses. Even with a 1.0 lens your projector is going to be 18' away and almost outside of your booth. So basically with a 18' screen, you must have a short throw lens. Anything under a 1.0 is considered a "short throw" projector/lens.
A projector with a 1.3 ratio needs 13' of distance to fill the same 10' screen. For example, a projector with a 1.0 throw ratio and a 10' wide screen would need 10' of distance to fill the screen. You have a few issues: brightness, throw distance, front projection.įirst, throw ratio is the relationship between screen width and throw distance. Next, holy hell a 11x19! That is about as big as your booth.
Do you do trade shows often? Would you use this equipment again? How many days do you need the equipment? If you are not going to be regularly using it, renting from the venue or an outside company is probably a better option.
